we adopted a two year old rescue dog while on vacation in Montana a month ago. we left him in our vehicle in a kennel for the ride home. Since the time we brought him home we havent been able to touch him to pet or groom him. 'we leave his kennel carrier open so he can come and go when he is scared or startled. If I try to put a leash on him he cowers and runs.... when we were in Montana, we watched the volunteer walk hiim on a leash and in his prescence we petted and walked our dog. Because of his entire life being traumatically abused (150 dogs involved in a single siezure)we were aware it would be a hard adjustment. but we still can'tget close enough to even touch him. He is not aggressive at all and very well behaved, but . 'we don't want to force anything on him, but need some advice on teaching him to overcome his fear and flight issues.
