Question:

Removing pebbles on mesh backsplash

I have a doozy...I want to remove a pebble backsplash I put up. It went up in 12 x 12 mesh sheets that the pebbles are attached to. I mortared, put up the sheets, then grouted. I really don't like it and want to remove it (or have it removed). It's not as easy as just removing the grout in a straight line as if they were 4 x 4 tiles...so does anyone have any advice on how to do this without damaging the wall? A bit more info...the wall they went up on was previously painted with a satin finish paint so it wasn't directly on drywall. Thanks.
