Reciprocals is very widely used and is very much a essence in the mathematics. It is understood by the number 1/x which is when multiplied by a variable, it gives the result which is equal to one. It can also be understood as the term is divided by 1 to get its reciprocal. E.g If you have to find the reciprocal of a number 8, the reciprocal would be 1/8.
Fraction in the mathematics has a numerator in the top and it has a denominator on the bottom. The reciprocal of a function is obtained by switching the numerator to the denominator.
The reciprocal of the whole number is obtained by switching the denominator and nominator with each other. This is also known as the reciprocal of the whole number.
To understand the concept of reciprocals further we can say that reciprocal is the opposite of a number or it can sometimes also be termed as inverse of the function. It also stands the property that when numbers are multiplied by their own reciprocals the result should always be 1 otherwise it means that the calculation we have done is wrong.

For a mixed number it is stated as first we have to start with a mixed number, later we have to convert the mixed number to an improper fraction. After this we have to invert numerator and the denominator of the improper function which means the denominator should be placed on the place of where numerator was while numerator should be replaced by the position where there was denominator. In the end it is required then we have to convert fraction to a single decimal number.
