Radio amplifier of 1996 mercury sable is located in the middle of the car dash board.

The Mercury Sable was a in great demand among mid-sized American-made sedans for nearly twenty years. Both the wagon and the sedan of old models were installed with r normal stereo systems of the time. Owners of the Sable desire more specs or feature and power from their car stereo. You have variety of option to have your stereo of the sable. It can be changed by a technician, or you can do it yourself and can save the decent amount of money. First step is to disconnect the negative battery Wire from the negative lead of the Mercury Sable. You can use a Phillips-head screwdriver to detach the clamp installed on the cable. No you need to remove it from the negative lead post.
First you need to put the two Ford DIN removal tools into the holes located vertically on either side of the face of the Mercury stereo.
Pull outward on the tools once inserted, and then remove the stereo installed in the dash with even force on both sides.
Detached the wire groups connected to the back of the factory stereo. remove each wire group with the help of white plastic binders.
Attach the wire groups to a wiring harness adapter. Put a faceplate adapter into the opening left by the removed factory stereo. Install the wiring harness adapter through the back of the faceplate adapter.
Attach the wiring harness adapter leads to the new stereo. Move the aftermarket unit into the slot given by the faceplate adapter. Push with little force the stereo into the dash until it is flush with the trim of the faceplate adapter.
Again connect the negative battery lead to the Sable's battery. Insert the cable's clamp around the negative battery lead post and fix it with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
