All bladed implements such as scissors (all types and sizes) and knives (of any sort) or sharp pointed objects including letter openers and items of this nature are prohibited in hand luggage from Adelaide Airport, as are all tools. These items should be packed in your check-in luggage for travel. Due to the large quantities of prohibited items detected during the screening process, most airlines will not forward any item detected and surrendered at the screening points. If items are not surrendered at the screening points, the passenger is in breach of Australian Government regulations, the airline will not allow the passenger to travel and passengers will be refused entry to the Departures hall. A full list of prohibited items is available under the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005. Please visit the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government website at infrastructure.gov.au for more information.
