I have a bottle of Porto Colheita 1974 which I am interested in learning about. I know virtually nothing about wines, and was therefore hoping you could offer some expertise. I could send you pictures of the bottle if you would like. It is sealed with a neck stamp reading vinho do porto Garantia around the edge and 262752 across the center, under CV and above 82. The Labeling is printed directly on the bottle in white. I want to know if the pictures would be of any use.

Photos always help so better to upload them so that someone interested can see or whatever photo sharing the ISP provides with a link. But even without seeing the bottle anyone can tell you that this is an aged Tawny Port from the stated vintage only, unlike Tawny Ports with a Statement of Age, which are blends of several or Vintage Ports, which are aged after bottling. It is a very popular style with some enthusiasts, who appreciate the rich and relatively soft flavour, but less so with others who prefer the fruity power of Vintage Port. These are always premium offerings within the range of a producer and some houses make them a specialty but their value varies widely. For the photo, it should tell the viewers enough to expand on this paragraph. There will be a suggestion of an approximate value or a possible sale route, thus making it easy both for the buyer and the seller.
