I just obtained a Philips 55PL9774 37 television. Picture was very dull and dark around the edges as well as the right half looked like a "negative". The person who gave me the TV said it needed a new bulb, so I bought one and put it in. Absolutely no change in the picture, and then things got worse as now it powers on and shuts down just as the picture is starting to come on and the power light blinks red. Would this be a lamp ballast problem, or a light engine problem?
