I have 2 Phalaenopsis orchids which stopped flowering months ago one has a tall stem with two spikes off of it, when it stopped flowering the whole stem stayed very green so i left it alone... now I notice the stalk is going brown in places. The second I cut off above a node but left about 8" of stem and the stem stayed green and healthy for a while then I noticed it went brown and started to dry at the end so I cut it to 1 or 2" above the first node. Neither have flowered in months but keep losing and putting on new leaves... what does this mean?
