If you have a plan to buy a Parrotlet, then try to provide the cage which has 18 ”wide x 18” deep x 24” heights. Make sure bar spacing is no more than 1/2” or 5/8" wide to ensure a head will not be caught. Try to provide larger space to your Parrotlet, so that he can easily stretch his wings and run around. It is observed that in larger cage the bird feels happier. For giving him variety you can include plenty of perches, or provide some natural wood perches, of different size. Add toys to your parrotlet’s cage and must provide a swing to him, you will notice that he will spend most of his time there, and possibly sleep there at night. Rotate toys occasionally in order to prevent the bird from boredom. Make sure all toys are safe for bird and they are according to the interest of the Parrotlet. One important thing regarding your pet is that clean your bird’s cage and toys regularly, it will prevent him from many health issues. As you are planning to purchase a Parrotlet, so it is recommended that your parrotlet has an annual examination and checkup by an Avian Certified vet. Like all pets, Parrotlet need loves and attention, and they appreciate all the time you can spend with them. So it is better to place the Parrotlet’s cage in the family room where there is a lot going on because Parrotlet will enjoy seeing people and the business going around.
