   Hi, I cannot be 100% certain without personally inspecting the gun in question but I have some thoughts about it regardless. Most of the shotguns that I am personally familiar with that had the "Paragon" name were made by the J. Stevens Co. and by the Baker Gun and Forging Co. Not knowing for certain the action type, I will also add that if it is a Stevens double with the listed serial number.... the "A" denotes a manufacture year of 1949
