The optical mouse on our PC isn&amp;amp;#39;t working at all. It is connected correctly to the PC, and it&amp;amp;#39;s red light is on and responding, but the cursor on the screen does not move at all. I&amp;amp;#39;ve checked for a faulty mouse, but the mouse is fine. I&amp;amp;#39;ve also checked in the Control Panel for any problems, but everything there seems to be fine. I suspect that it is some sort of hardware or electrical problem, but don&amp;amp;#39;t really know the specifics. I&amp;amp;#39;ve also tried rebooting the computer, but this doesn&amp;amp;#39;t do anything. Please help!

In case of problem with Optical Mouse in its movement. The reason can be problem with the lens of the mouse. The lens might be faulty or there might be problem the connection. You can disconnect it from the port you are using and can reconnect it to the new port, even then if mouse stops responding then there might be a faulty lens that needs to be changed.

Old mouse used rolling ball and two chopper wheels for movement, while the new Optical mouse uses light emitting diode underlying its surface for the movement.
