   Alexandria is the second-largest city in Egypt, and it resembles more like Mediterranean city than a Middle Eastern one. It is situated approximately 225 km from Cairo, but it’s beautiful and cultural heritage separate it from the rest of Egypt. The fabulous city was formed in 331 BC by Alexander the Great, the city became the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt, hosting one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the legendary Pharos Lighthouse. Alexandria is also the setting for the attractive relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Antony. The city became the heart of learning in the ancient world and once having the largest library in the world, the popular Library of Alexandria.
   When Napoleon invaded this region, Alexandria had faded from glory and was considered as one of the sparsely populated fishing village. From the 19th century onward, Alexandria performed on a new role as the focus of Egypt's commercial and maritime advancements. Different age bands of immigrants from Greece, Italy, and the Levant have adjusted here, making the city a heart of commerce, cosmopolitanism, and bohemian culture. Although much of the majesty of ancient Alexandria is demolished under the surface of buildings, remnants of the past are still available throughout the city today.
   Alexandria is one of famous destination for several Mediterranean cruises, and companies provide one or two day’s trip to the passengers, which have many facilities along with entrance tickets to the beautiful sites with professional guide car and driver.
