   After the Singapore President has issued the writ of Singapore Parliamentary Election, the Returning Officer will issue a notice stipulating: the date, time and place for nomination of candidates; the nomination paper to be signed by : the candidate; the proposer; the seconder; and at least four assentors. The proposer’s, seconder’s and assentors' names must appear in the register of electors for the SMC or GRC that the candidate or group of candidates seeks election. the payment of deposit (a sum equal to 8% of the total allowances payable to MPs in the preceding year, rounded to the nearest $500).
