Today my science teacher gave a lecture on neurons and human brain, I want to know few more details about neurons and there location in human brain. Please help.

A neuron is a nerve sell. It can also be known as neurone. Its travelling is done by electrical and chemical signaling. It specializes in connections with other cells and the chemical signaling occurs through synapses. Neurons connect to each other from networks. A lot of sensory organs rely on sensory neurons which include brain, spinal cord and they respond to touch, sound and light and also stimulated by other sensory organs which later send signal to spinal cord and the brain. Motor neurons are those which affect the glands and the muscular contractions in our body is also caused by these neurons, these neurons get the signal from the brain. There are some Interneuron’s present in the body and their role and function is to connect different different neurons with the same region in the brain. All neurons also have the reputation of being hyper like they easily get excited by electric charge, their voltage continues as they travel through the membranes to the ion pumps. This travelling also causes certain differences of ions such as sodium, potassium, chloride and calcium. When there is a sharp increase in the voltage, an action potential is generated which also activated connections with other cells. In Adult the behavior of neurons is slightly different and they are generated by stem cells. These are special type of cells which generate stem cells. There are some variations in the number of neurons present in the body which vary from species to species. An estimate shows that in Human Brain there are 100 billion neuron but another estimate shows that there are 86 billion neuron present in the brain.
