Need to replace dodge caravan timing belt

My auto mechanic advised me to change timing belt of my dodge caravan with a 2.4L (VIN B) engine, as it is creating problem for many days. If I go to auto mechanic for replacement of timing belt, it will cost a lot and I am not in mood to spend a lot of money. That is why I want to change it myself. Please guide me in replacing it. Thanks!

It is a time taking thing to change your Dodge Caravan timing belt. For that you need proper tools and complete know-how. To change timing belt of your vehicle, you need to follow the steps given below:
First, separate the negative battery wire and safely lock the car on jack stands.Unfasten the passenger internal splash-shield, the drive belts and the crankshaft damper. Remove the right mount and mount bracket from the engine.
After doing this, you need to unfasten the bolts on the timing belt with the help of s***w driver and take out the belt and tensioner. Now you will check the cam and crankshaft sprockets for securing the camshaft sprocket bolt at 85 foot pounds.

Locate the sprocket to "Top Dead Center" (TDC) by placing the sprocket notch with the help of oil pump housing's arrow. Place the camshafts to align sprockets' timing marks. Turn the crankshaft at one-half notch before TDC.

At the crankshaft, Start to install the timing belt. Bring the belt under the water pump sprocket. Direct the belt to the crankshaft sprockets with the help of the idler pulley and further by using tensioner pulley. Rotate the crankshaft to TDC. Now remove any sagging by rotating the sprocket to the right to TDC. Once done, affix the tensioner again without securing it .
