Hi, Does the power adapter ( the big square box) have a light to tell if it is plugged in, have you noticed that before) is the power adapter warm or HOT ? How about the battery, if you take it out is it warm? cold? I just shipped a second one to a guy that had the same problem , it was only the power supply ( adapter etc,,) the first blew out from a " brown out" power outage. Do you have a docking station with the laptop? The bad news is that the second most repaired part of a laptop is the power connector... the place you put the power cable in.... you said you were a little rough with the laptop... did that have anything to do with.. tripping over the power cord. etc... if you can relpy to the questions ... 1- the power supply has a light on... 2- the power supply box is hot or worm or cold 3- do you have a docking staion connected to the laptop
