my 1983 230 TE wagon suddenly stopped like it ran out of gasoline,my mechanic said I need to change the transistorized ignition and ignition relay ? I want to understand what destroys these parts aside from the regular wear and tear. tnx :-)
I installed earlier a stereo with an amplifier , I wonder if this has a connection to the transistorized ignition giving way? The mechanic got a transistorized ignition from another working benz installed it and it started. But he recommended that we change the ignition relay as well, but during the test, it started , so why will he recommend the change of the ignition relay ?
