   Hi, Let the shingles extend over the bottom by about an inch. Now you’ll have to insert something under the shingles that will extend out into the gutter. You can use strips of metal. They should stay put long term or you might have to adjust some from time to time or try some caulking to hold it in place. Hope it helps
