Maybe you could compromise....BLEACH your dark leg and/or arm hair??? There are a lot of gentle face/body hair bleaches available these days. Depending on how long the hairs are, and how thick/dense the hair will be completely unnoticeable - as the bleach is designed to lighten the hair to match your skin.
I was nervous about asking my mum too (I'm 40yrs old now, so this is 30yrs ago!)...as she was pretty old fashioned back then (she's OK now...she was forced her into the modern world as my sisters and I grew up hahaha). My legs looked so bad that SHE eventually suggested I shave! I was sitting near her one day and she gently commented "your legs are getting rather hairy aren't they". Maybe you could use reverse psychology: wear shorts a lot, around her, and subtley flaunt/draw attention to your legs. Having female astetics she might naturally notice they appear a tad too fuzzy.
OR you could try my older sis's trick. She came home from school one day and told my mum they'd been given a talk on good hygiene practices...and she was advised to shave....as bacteria lives on hair and produces bad odour when you sweat.

i have the same problem but im a year younger and i haven't asked my mom. I know it should be soon that she wants me to shave, but all my friends do i and i want to sooo bad! I just wanna know the time my mom thinks is good. : (
same here i have to wear shorts in the morning for P.E and i look at all the girls legs there so smooth then they look at mine and make fun of me and its to embarassing to ask my mom!

I had to do mine when i was 9 my mom offered me beacause my underarms and legs were super hairy.Try teeling your mom that its essential to get it done and explain why you need to i am also 12 and i have done it for a while now.Or if she still wont let you talk to your Dad or a teacher.

atleast 16- before you start shaving,your skin is super sensetive- it will goall ruff & manly if you want that.

The same thing happend to me! u could not even see my legs because all the hair i had!at cheerleading i have to wear short skirts and all the girls noticed that i did not shave so they all started to make fun of me. I begged my mom to let me shave but she said no over and over again> It got to the point that i asked my my cheerleading coach to talk to my momo and it worked on one leg my mom showed me how to shave with a razor and on the other leg she showed me how to use that thing on t.v called smooth away, she told me i could use wich ever made me more comfy. I chose smooth away it really works! talk to your mom about useing smooth away instead of shaveing!
i know right my mom wont let me shave either and im 12 but going to 8th grade which makes it even worse. i asked her once and she yelled at me and said NO
just ask your mom to shave your legs or just ask her to show you how to do it yourself.
tell her that ppl are making fun of you and you really don't like it...you think it's time to start shaving.
Ask her why! Technically there is no reason why you can't, but if she feels uncomfortable letting you use a razor, ask her if you can use hair removal cream/gel. It works just as good, and it only takes a few minutes.
calm down and give her reasons to let u shave ur legs(subtly) and after a while ask her again(dont beg)
I would just shave them.. you shouldnt need your mums permission if you are uncomfortable.. i started shaving my legs when i was 10 because mine were hairy..

My mum is TOTALLY against me shaving.
So, I'm gonna wait till I'm 13 (November) and hopefully she will get the hint.
Tell her that you really want to wear shorts, but people make fun of you. Explain all of that.

I feel your pain, but I actually didn't start shaving until before my sophomore year of high school. I felt really insecure about the hair on my legs and my mom wouldn't let me shave either because she'd always try and scare me with "Your hairs will grow back thicker and it will be uncomfortable." And since I went to a Catholic school and all the girls are required to wear skirts, I always wore knee highs year-round, and wore jeans concerning casual clothing. In the end I just did it behind her back and she didn't care. :\
But I think you should talk to your mom about this, because it's obviously causing you trouble.

Razor blades are sharp and it's easy to nick - come on guys, don't you have safety razors where you live? The worst you can do is a tiny cut with one minute drop of blood before it seals up.
I'd much rather my daughter shaved than got in the habit of plastering herself in hair removal chemicals.
Tell your mum you will shave yourself ONCE (your lower legs only, not some fancy all over job with trashy heart shaped pubic hair) and see how it goes. I mean, if you end up looking worse than you did before it's not like you're going to carry on shaving, is it? It's not addictive or irreversible. If it doesn't work well, you just don't do it again!

well tell her that you don't care about the dots if you get any and i shaver my legs and don't get dots. show yourr mother your legs and exsplian to her. if she won't listen to reson then do it behind her back! some things you hav to do behind your poerents backs. i mean thats such a stupid reson. i know atleast 20 ppl that shave thier legs and don't get little bumps you only get bumps if you shave in a sennsitive pplaces like shaveing your public hair.

i can understand why you are embarrassed to show your legs if you have not shaved them. just talk to her about and tell her that you think your old enough to start without letting on about the teasing but also ask her WHY she doesnt want you to shave them, if she still wont acept it then you could try using a hair removing cream like nair or veet?

She is the same age and i really didn't want her shaving her legs. It just seemed an adult thing for a little girl. However, when she told me the comments she got from her school 'friends' it swayed my decision. She tried a spray foam first (veet i think) which removed the hair and left her legs silky smooth but the smell was gross. So she now shaves, i just make sure i buy her good quality razors and i 'supervised' her the first few times. I even looked up a website for young girls who want to shave their legs. Have a look. Maybe get your mom to look too.

Commonly, it is because razor blades are sharp and it is easy to nick..even with adults so perhaps if you really want to shave your legs ask her to shave them for you.
Tell her the truth.Tell her that you don't want people calling you names and that the hair is a bothersome.
Don't however go behind her back to shave them.You will lose her trust and you could potentially harm yourself in the process.
