Missing balancing weight?

I have a 2005 GMC Envoy, the rear right side tire is missing the balancing weight. I discussed this with few of my friends among which most said that it is fine but few said that you need to add up new weight just to avoid any sort of hassle. How would that affect the tires and should I get it fixed as soon as possible? Thanks!

Usually balancing and weight addition to the rim and tyre is need to reduce or remove any sort of vibration. Tyre is made from rubber and it can easily out of shape if proper balancing is not there in the tyre. Same way rim needs weights to be balanced and if any of the balance is missing then there will be very clear vibration inn the car.

Now if you know that any of the weight is missing from the rim then you need to add new weight to maintain the balance of the rim and to enjoy the smooth drive.
More over things like this need to be properly checked because at times vibration and be so increased that it might lead to an accident. So to avoid such mis happenings you should take proper care of your car.
