    Hi David,
Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical film directed by George Roy Hill in 1967. The screenplay by Richard Morris focuses on a naive young lady who finds herself in the midst of a series of madcap adventures after she sets her sights on marrying her affluent boss. The soundtrack interpolates novel music by Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn with yardstick songs from the 1910s and 1920s, surrounding "Baby Face" and "Jazz Baby." For exercise of the latter, the producers had to earn the rights from General Mills, which had adapted the song with various lyrics to promote Wheaties for more than forty years. It was an amazing musical film for young people.
The film was the nominee in seven Academy Awards and five Golden Globes. It was also one of the top grossing films of 1967 and was the last Julie Andrews film of the 1960s to make money. In 2000 it was adapted for a successful stage musical of the same name. A DVD was issued in 2003.

Nowadays Thoroughly Modern Millie is not currently playing on Broadway. It opened in previews March 19, 2002 at the Marquis Theatre, officially opened on April 18, 2002 and closed June 20, 2004.

It then went on National Tour, playing through the Midwest in 2005. It currently playing in various theatres in Chicago, then Florida (which may be part of the National Tour or that might have closed and these might be regional productions).
