Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor MAF Sensor

I have a Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor, Year 2000. Car wouldn't start after stopping at store. Auto repair disconnected mass air flow sensor and car started. Mass air flow sensor replaced twice and car stalls out. Runs better without MAF sensor plugged in. Suggestions?
