What is the famous concept of people with redskin or Mascot?

My question is regarding the famous concept of people with redskin or Mascot, particularly in Washington. As per my knowledge about Mascot is that it is the name given to the person or animal that is believed to bring good luck, especially one kept as the symbol of an organization such as a sports team. I want to know why this is so?

     The Washington Redskins are a sports group in the National Football League. They are established in the NFC East Division.
    The Redskins first begun in as the Boston Braves where they performed at Braves Field. Owner George Marshall shortly renamed the group to the Boston Redskins. Later he shifted the group to present dwelling Washington D.C. and therefore the group became the Washington Redskins. They actually play at FedEx Field.
    Several years before, throughout the Steve Spurrier era, the Redskins was dressed in some throwback method uniforms that were wholeheartedly superb. It's a gaze they should actually convey back. I manage like their present uniforms, particularly now with the yellow trousers, but a new helmet would actually set it off.
    This idea of helmet conceive is an adaption of the projectile they was dressed in the '60's and much like what they was dressed in with Spurrier. In this conceive, I scrounged the plumage from the present logo and supplemented them to the vintage logo.ain.
