Here are some problems that Marigold can have and you can solve and identify the problem by the following methods. First problem with the Marigold is that It fades to bloom or there is a condition of no blooming and it is caused by the temperature fluctuations. Then there might be the case where there is few blossoms and excessive Foliage, this will be the case of too much fertilizer. There is also a case of Leaves Curled and Distorted which is caused by Aphids. There might be holes in the leaves and chewed edges which might be the due to the caterpillars. A condition where sometimes there are not only holes in the leaves but also hole in the flowers is known as Japanese Beetles. The condition of Leaves disclosed or distorted is sometimes caused by Leafhoppers, the state of Deformed or Dwarfed Flowers is caused by Plant Bug and Sometime the leaves become stippled, disclosed or webbed, this will be the case of Mites. Black spots with Spore bodies on leaves can be the result of Leaf Spot. The condition that you are telling about Grey spots on the leaves is caused by Botrytis Blight. Fungal Wilt is another disease of the plants and leaves which turns the stunts and leaves yellow. Sometimes the stem gets affected by the Dark Lesions , this condition is known as Stem Rot. In order to protect your plant from the disease you can make a mixture of one tablespoon dishwashing soap and mix it with 1 cup cooking oil spray it over the plant.
