Making single copies of multiple pages in a document

Hello Everyone. I have a canon pc 740 toner monochrome copier. I received it used but did not have any operating instructions for it. It prints great after I changed the toner cartridge but I can't seem to figure out how I can make copies of a multiple page document at once. I presently have to copy each page using the upper glass copy section. There is a slot on the right side of the machine. I can enter paper in this slot, the machine ingests it and spits it out where the printed page normally comes out but no copy. I feel as though I am overlooking something very simple. Any Suggestions?
