God has created us with an internal moral compass so that we have the knowledge of right and wrong. Following Him and being in a close relationship with Him makes self control more straight forward; however because so many have turned from God, now law after law has been put in place along with police and military to enforce them, just to keep us safe from each other. So obedience to God through love is the first modifier, then once we have turned from God, laws and threat of incarceration become the second modifiers. Subsets of this might be emotions that come out of the importance that one might place on peer acceptance, as well as guilt, fear, excitement, joy, love, etc. Some authors are as below: K. Beauregard Sebastian Leidel, Patrick G. A. Pedrioli, Tamara Bucher, Renée Brost, Michael Costanzo, Alexander Schmidt, Ruedi Aebersold, Charles Boone, Kay Hofmann Matthias Peter.
