I am trying to put together a HS instructional unit for the Great Depression. I have spent some serious time on the Internet but have been unable to find the film that contains the musical performance of &quot;Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries.&quot; Do you know what movie it is from?

I think f***y Brice sang it in The Great Ziegfeld. I am more than a little sure Virginia O'Brian sage it in the ( about 19486 film) Zigfeld follies. The Great Ziegfeld starred William Powell as Florenz Zigfeld. That was made in the 30s. William Powell also starred as Ziegfeld in Ziegfeld Follies. I saw it when I was about 11 or 12, and that would have made it in 1945 to 1946. The first one was about the life of Florenz Ziegfeld, and the second one started out with Ziegfeld in Heaven, reminiscing about his Broadway days, and he was saying hw he would like to put on a show now. \"Just look at all the talent there is down there now\". So he started doing the show, and we saw the acts. Almost everyone in Hollywood that could sing, dance or tell a joke was in it. I have both movies, but I am not sure where to put my hands on them right now. I would have to look through a ton of boxes of videos. If I am not mistaken, f***y Brice made her debut in The follies singing that song.

The Great Ziegfeld was made in 1936, and Ziegfeld follies was made in 1946. You can get them both in DVD. I recommend it, they are great movies to watch. The Great Ziegfeld is $15.99, and Ziegfeld follies is $59.99.
Although it is little expensive there, but it is worth it. It has so many major musical starts from the 40s, and such great numbers.
