Leaf blower malfunctioning

our 5 month old leaf blower sounds like it's getting low power and after a couple of minutes you can start to smell the motor. I burned out one before by having leaves stuck over the impeller. This time that area is clear and I shut it off quickly as soon as I smelled the motor. What should I do?
