Kodak ESP 3 will print and copy but will not scan!! Why?

   I had the same problem and I got it to work. I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer. Here's what I did...

   Go to "Start" then "Control Panel".
   -Click on "Programs and Features".
   -Scroll down to Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - click on that and then click on the "Change" link above.
   -A box will pop up, click on "Add or Remove Features" and then click "Continue".
   -Click on the "+" next to "Office Tools"
   -Click on the "+" next to "Microsoft Office Document Imaging"
   -Click on the down arrow next to "Scanning, OCR and Indexing..."
   -Then, click on "Run from my Computer"
   -Next click on "Continue" at the bottom of the dialogue box and your configuration process should begin

   Once completed go to the start menu and type in "Scan" into the search box. Go to "Microsoft Office Document Scanning" Once there, plug your scanner into you computer, chose what color you want your scan to be in, and click on the picture of the scanner to the right. To make my scans clear, I had to click on "Scanner..." and chose KODAK ESP AiO as my scanner even though I have a KODAK ESP-3 printer/scanner.

   I hope these instructions weren't too confusing and I hope this helps some of you out! My scanner was causing me a lot of frustration for a while!

   When i scan, light coloured lines and dark lines appear on photo. How do i get the scan without the lines? (tried moving the photo around - makes no difference)

   Well, you should check it out that all the drivers are installed properly. Sometimes we don't have drivers so the device not works properly. You should re-install the drivers properly. Hope that helps,
