The kindergarten teachers have a great influence on the social and academic career of the children. The requirements to become a kindergarten teacher can differ according to the countries setups and requirements, for instance in Canada and United State, the candidates will be consider eligible if he has been completed a bachelor’s degree in education or early childhood education. Some states needs appropriate training and licensing for the kindergarten teachers and they will not consider hiring those people who have not proper training and licensing. In many countries different other criteria are also applied which also affect the pay scales of the kindergarten teachers, for instance few school’s managements wants to hire such candidates who possess master degree in the early childhood education or elementary education, but on the same time few other school managements not showing any special interest in hiring such persons because in this situation they will have to pay more money. The Kindergarten Teachers introduce many new concepts in her class to the young learners that is why it is necessary that she must has basic organizational skills so that she can easily introduce different method of teaching. To become a trained and licensed Kindergarten Teacher following courses may required for the candidates:
    • Theories in Child Development
    • Curriculum Planning
    • Integrating Parental Involvement
    • Foundations of Bilingual Education
    • Culture and Curriculum
    • Childhood Learning
    • Child Language Acquisition
    • Play and Learning

Check with local university and your state department of education. She will have to take more courses, do student teaching etc. However, she would probably not have to do the entire program, because she has taken some of the required courses already. My husband got a BA in Spanish and then picked up a Master's in Elementary Education. It took him three semesters after his BA. By the way, in our state, a person gets qualified in elementary or secondary, but not Kindergarten only. This way, the teacher has more flexibility.
