Kenmore Sewing Machine 1941 - Zipper Foot issue. I ordered the zipper foot listed in the manual

I ordered the zipper foot listed in the manual (#6757) and it doesn't seem to work on the machine. The shank portion is not long enough and the way it would attach doesn't match the shank on the other feet. Help!
