   Sounds like the clutch is going out. The clutch is located on the agitator shaft, part of the gearcase at bottom of tub. To replace it, you have to remove the agitator, disconnect water and drain hoses and then lay machine on it's back. Then disconnect the pump which is connected to the drive motor. The drive motor and gearcase come out as one unit and swap out the clutch, and reinstall is the reverse order. It helps to download a schematic from Sears parts. It should taker about 1-2 hours, depending on ability and tools are simple, nothing fancy.
