Kauto Star to make turf horse racing history on Boxing Day. Paul Nicholls says KAUTO STAR has come on a ton for his seasonal reappearance at Haydock. If you follow turf racing you would already know there is a huge chance of history to be made on boxing day when Kauto star aims towards four straight wins in the William Hill King George VI Chase. The betting market gives him an 8-13 chance to trump Desert Orchid's four non-consecutive King George victories.
A piece of work on Wednesday in company with racing's top-rated hurdler Big Buck's has given Nicholls all the signals he wanted.
"He worked very well and has come on a ton for Haydock," said Nicholls, whose star landed the Betfair Chase last month by a nose from King George second- favourite Imperial Commander.
Even a forecast of 10cm of snow will not stop this history to secure its place in the books as Brian Clifford the clerk at Kempton says temperatures should rise from Christmas day onwards and the track should be ready for the showdown on boxing day.
