Karl is a special kind of guy; As Managing Director of Special Situations, he is responsible for managing turnarounds, workouts and divestitures within BDC's Venture Capital portfolio. Karl joined BDC Venture Capital in 1992.

Before joining BDC, Karl held positions in engineering, technical sales and marketing with Esso Petroleum Canada followed by a period as Vice President of an international trading company in Montreal. He has diverse operational experience in a number of industries. His experience includes engineering, project management, turnarounds, corporate boards, strategic alliances, sales and marketing.
Karl holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick as well as an MBA with a major in Finance from Concordia in Montréal.
