   Airport Road, Pratap Nagar, Udaipur - 313 001, Rajasthan, is a Deemed University declared under Section 3 of the UGC Act,1956. It is also approved by the Distance Learning Council, New Delhi.
   It has captured the status of Deemed University in 1987. As a distance learning institution, the university is not only spreading its roots in the country but has also stepped into the area of international studies through academic exchange of its students and faculty members to Slippery Rock University of the United States America. University is also offering technical courses through sandip academy which is located in Mumbai.
   A few notable efforts were initiated in British India to improve the system of education prevalent in India during that time with the awakening of national consciousness in the early years of the last century. Gujarat Vidyapeeth, established by Mahatma Gandhi for preparing youth to serve and improve or uplift the people living rural setup.
   The year 1987 has great importance in the history of Vidyapeeth when the Indian government Ministry of Human Resource Development and the University Grants Commission gave it the status of a Deemed-to-be-University. After that, University is offering a number of different types of courses including professional programs. The main purpose of the university is to provide quality education to the native of that area. University is flourishing day by day.
