Much maligned and out of form for a large chunk of the Ashes series, Mitchell Johnson’s form with bat and ball in the opening ODI’s against England prove his value to the Australian team.

    Johnson was lauded after his performance in South Africa, and when he hit form against England in the Ashes he showed again just how dangerous he can be with the ball in his hand. While bowling will always be the reason he is selected in the side - and Johnson needs to find consistent form in this area - he is also very useful with the bat, as his quickfire 43 runs in the second ODI against England in 2009 show.
