JVC stereo turns off

My JVC home stereo turns off when I try to turn it on. It was working just yesterday and I have had this recurring problem. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in after 5 minutes and it didn't work.

    JVC,Jensan,Sony many new 12volt audio decks are susceptible to power surges. Decks that are on turn off, as well as decks that are off turn on. Decks that are off and mysteriously turn on are easy to correct by connecting them to a separate on/off switch. Doecks that are on and shut off will probably need and in-line capacitor to squelch voltage spikes. This information is best directed to the manufacturer of the appliance.
