Sumitranandan Pant born in May 20, 1900 past away in December 28, 1977, was one of the most well renowned up to date Hindi poets. He is advised one of the foremost poets of the Chhayavaadi school of Hindi literature. Pant mostly composed in Sanskritized Hindi. Pant authored 20 eight released works encompassing verse, verse performances and essays. Pant was born at Kausani town of Bageshwar, in the high grounds of Kumaon. His mother past away inside a couple of hours of his birth. He was granted the title Gosain Dutt. His primary schooling took place in Almora. After matriculation he shifted to Kalakankar beside Prayag. He did not like his title so he provided himself a new title "Sumitranandan Pant". After some time, he went to Sri Aurobindo's ashram at Pondicherry. Apart from Chhayavaadi verses, Pant furthermore composed progressive, philosophical (influenced by Sri Aurobindo), socialist and humanist poems. Pant obtained Jnanpith Award for assemblage of his most well renowned verses, titled Chidambara. He was bestowed the Nehru Peace Prize by the Soviet Union for Lokayatan.
