My wife was adopted by a german national. The adoption contract expressly states that" In regards to the rrights and duties resulting from this adoption contract the provisions of the Civil Code of the Federal Republic of Germany will become effective, if nothing different is agreed to and subsequently written in this contract. As a result of this adoption the child is given the legal position of a mutual marital child of the couple (named)
Excluded is the legal right of inheritance or a portion therof of the adopted child and her descendents against the adopting father (named) Said exclusion of inheritance claims or a portion thereof should be valid in accordance with the provisions of the german but also international civil laws, even if the adopting father may seek domicile outside the boundaries of the Federal Republic of Germany, inasmuch as this is legally possible"
