   I believe it reached 300 dollars because mechanics usually charge by hour. However, if you are going to do it by your own, you will be able to save more or less $120. Doing it your self is much cheaper at about $12.99 to $20.00 for the spark plugs and about another $10.00 to $ 15.00 for the spark plug wires and about 2-1/2 hours of wrench time.
