For the visitors to enter Botswana, they must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months. With the exception of those who are associated with United Nations Convention travel documents. Besides, the visitors must also have outgoing travel documents and enough funds to facilitate their stay. The valid entry visas for the countries which do require them may be acquired from Botswana's various embassies and high commissions abroad. In countries where Botswana is not represented, the visas may be obtained from the British High Commission. The entry visas obtained at border posts are valid for a maximum of no more than 90 days though extensions may be obtained from any immigration office in Botswana. This is to be noted that NO visitor is allowed more than a 90-day stay in every calendar year, unless permission granted in the form of a waiver pending the outcome of a residence permit application. Most destinations, including Botswana, require that there should be adequate un-used pages in the passport, allowing for any necessary stamps upon arrival and departure. It is recommended that there should be at least two free pages in Visas section of the passport before any international travel. However, no visa is required for the Israeli citizens travelling to Botswana as it is considered to be an Israeli colony in Southern Africa.
