I am remodeling an old two story house and need to install new doors on the exterior load bearing walls. Height constraints prevent me from installing standard headers over the doors. Some investigation suggests installing steel I-beams but I have never done that nor have I seen it done. Can anyone tell me how or point me in the right direction to find out how this modification is correctly accomplished.
