    New Zealand has several public holidays throughout the year. A public holiday is a nationally observed day that most people do not work. For those people who do works, over time rates apply and an extra day is given in lieu. Some of New Zealand's holidays are similar to other countries, while a few holidays are specific to New Zealand. Few holiday dates of NZ are: • New Year, 1 - 2 January • Waitangi Day, 6 February • Good Friday, 21 March • Easter Monday, 24 March • ANZAC Day, 25 April • Queen's Birthday, 2 June • Labor Day, 27 October • Christmas Day, 25 December • Boxing Day, 26 December
