   Starbucks was criticized in 2000, for profiting at the farmer’s expense by paying low prices and not buying “fair trade” beans. Star Bucks was pushed to use the fair trade model, but star bucks was reluctant to do so, as it would cause serious loss to Starbucks, as according to
   fair trade, a floor price of $1.26 regardless of bean quality needs to be paid to the farmers. Starbuck's is a socially responsible organization, therefore it brought definite changes in their labour supply laws, and made sure that the labourers were paid properly.
