   I was given up for adoption when I was an infant. It was the most loving and unselfish thing my mother could have ever done for me. I was given such a gift and my life was forever changed. I was able to get a college education and be very successful. My family who adopted me were able to provide me with everything my mother wasn't able to because she was young. The most important thing in adoption is finding a couple who has a strong family, financially secure to offer your child and education and everything else they will ever need, and a house that has love beyond words to give!!! I always knew I was adopted and every day I am so thankful and feel so blessed for the life she allowed me to have. I can only say that it is a hard thing to do, but I am proof that pure love of a birthmother can open doors for the future for their child. My husband and I are now in the process of wanting to adopt. We have an amazing life and I want to give back, what was given to me. If I can help you in any way please let me know.    13 and pregnant! You must be so frightened right now with so many, many unknowns before you. You have a big decision to make but I know you can do it, just be confident in yourself. Telling your parents will not be easy but it is a must. I do not know what type of relationship you have with your parents but I would suggest you simply sit down with them and tell them right out. I have had 4 sisters get pregnant at an early age and for them the fear was telling our parents too. At first my parents were upset but after time they calmed down and were able to offer a lot of support and encouragement. You will need both as you continue on in your pregnancy. I want to tell you how proud I am of you for not thinking of abortion. If you decide you do not want the baby there are many families out there who would love to take care of him/her. You have a big decision to make, and not an easy one. You are so very young with a lot of options before you. My husband and I are looking to adopt a baby. However, what I feel is most important in your situation is that you take time to consider all your options, talk with your parents, your boyfriend and look at what is best for your unborn child. It will be hard on you and you will think about that child every day for the rest of your life. Yet you also need to think about what is best. Remember there is the option of keeping in contact with your baby if you do decided to give him/her up.
