   Punta Cana is a beautiful area. It has beautiful fish and colorful coral formations. Types of fish depend upon the areas. Closer areas will have less fish whereas the farther areas will have more fish.
   You can expect great variety in marine life. It includes flatfish, eels, schools of colorful fish and octopuses. It is not easy to tell exact species of fish; however, common species include the balloon fish, the trumpet fish, and spotted eagle ray. Many other species are also found there.

First type of fish is Atlantic Blue Marlin: It is identified by black dark blue stripes and it also has light blue dots and bars. Its belly color is silvery white. Its fins and tails are electric blue color. Maximum weight is of 900 kg. Extreme temperature ranges from 21C to 30C. There is another type of fish known as White Marlin which has color of dark blue and there are stripes along its body. Its weight is 90 kg. It can stay alive between the temperature of 20C to 29C. The other type of fish is Atlantic Sailfish. It has a mixed color of dark and light blue spots and its lower body is silvery white, its maximum weight is upto 60 kg. It can survive upto temperature of 21 C to 30C. Skipjack Tuna is a fish which has dark puplish blue color and its lower body has four to six dark long bands. It has a maximum weight of 35 kg. Another type of fish is Yellowfin Tuna. It upper body has a color of black and blue while it also has yellow stripes. Tail is keel dark, its weight is upto 175 kg. Mahi Mahi is also found in the Punta Cana fishing center, its characteristics are its electric blue combinations, its lower body is gold and electric silver. While its upper body is of green color. Its weight is upto 45 kg. Upper body green or electric blue, or combinations, lower body gold or electric silver. Maximum weight (males are heaviest) up to 45 kg.
