Well, there are lot of such companies as well as freelancers available online who can help you with ecommerce site. Try Elance and Guru. These platforms are good as you can see the company/freelancer’s past work and clients’ reviews. Secondly these platforms are good from secured transaction perspective. On the other hand you can check some websmater forums like Digitalpoint and Webmaster World etc. You will find people who can work cheap on these sites, but I am not sure about the security. It’s better to post pay or deal with a service provider who has good iTrader on these sites.
And yes, the best way with zero investment would be using some opensource software for your ecommerce site. The best opensource platforms for an ecommerce site that I know are Zen Cart, Oscommerce and Magento. Check them out, preferably their documentation first to see which one fulfils your need and opt for one. There are hundreds of free templates available for these opensource platforms which can give your ecommerce site a unique look. This is little painful, as you need to filter out the software and select a theme for it, install things on your server yourself, but I feel you save lots f money especially if you’re not much aware about the design and development rates!
