Question:

I have a compaq presario f700 When I try to turn it on it shuts of immediately. any Idea?

It will try to come on and immediatly shut off. I held the power button down and it came on Once or twice. It ran for hours when it did come on. I cant get it to power up now. I have removed the battery and tried same result.

Sorry, it's the same person again. Now this may sound like it wont work, but give it a try first. When turning on the laptop, hold the ESC key. Keep holding for about 5 seconds. The laptop should turn on, with nothing on the screen. Then hold the power key and turn it off, and turn it back on again. I did that, and the laptop worked perfectly fine again. Give it a try!

Hi. I have the same problem. I've almost completely taken the laptop apart, and according to the many things i've looked up, it all comes back to one thing for me. The Motherboard. Now, if you are still in warranty, you want to send it in ASAP, but if not, you're going to either have to get a new motherboard, (or maybe a different part, this is based off my problem), and replace it yourself, or have someone open it up for you and try to find the broken part.
