I have a Sylvania TV/VCR

I have a Sylvania TV/VCR combo, model 3913LC manufactured in 1999 that has been working just fine except for the remote control, which stopped working--even though I changed the batteries. I purchased a universal remote, tried all the codes for Sylvania, and none worked. Any suggestions?
