My refrigerator/freezer is about 7½ years old.

There have been a few times lately (in the passed 3 months or so) I've gone into my kitchen and found the door was not shut properly on the freezer side (I want to blame it all on my teenage child, but I've been responsible for it as well)and there's been a puddle of water on the floor. It's been no problem to shut the door correctly and all is well.

Not anymore. Now the freezer is not cooling at all.
I don't know if not shutting the door properly has anything to do with the problem or not.

There was frost in the freezer, I'm assuming it because the door was left open so many times. And the motor is running - non-stop.

I've finally just turned off the thermostat and am now in the process of trying to find answers. And I've removed all of the food in the freezer and put it in our deep freeze.

I'm hoping it's as simple as cleaning coils or making sure the condenser is clean and the fan is blowing...

PLEASE help!
